Odaimy Cervantes, M.D., is a board-certified family medicine physician at Baptist Health Primary Care. She provides comprehensive primary care for patients and families, with clinical interests in preventive care, women’s health and pediatric medicine. She is passionate about helping patients maintain their health through evidence-based preventive strategies, early detection of disease and lifestyle-focused interventions. She also enjoys caring for children and supporting families throughout their child’s growth and development. Dr. Cervantes earned her medical degree from Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at the Florida International University-Baptist Health Family Medicine Residency, where she served as chief resident during her final year. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. Her research experience includes projects focused on lung cancer screening, deep vein thrombosis risk stratification and patient outcomes. Dr. Cervantes has also served on several committees at West Kendall Baptist Hospital focused on quality, patient safety and performance improvement. Dr. Cervantes’ care philosophy centers on partnership, education and prevention. She believes in shared decision-making and takes time to help patients understand their health conditions, treatment options and the reasoning behind her recommendations. Through education and preventive care, she strives to empower patients to make informed decisions, adopt healthy habits and take an active role in their long-term health and well-being. She values the opportunity primary care provides to build lasting relationships and care for individuals and families across generations. Dr. Cervantes is fluent in English and Spanish. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Cervantes enjoys spending time with her family, trying new foods and exploring new cities.
