He is the Medical Advisory Board Ophthalmology Chair for the International Sturge-Weber Foundation, an editor for Ophthalmology Glaucoma, a founding member of the North American Pediatric Glaucoma Society, and the Director of Research for the Balkan International Pediatric Glaucoma Center. He has been the principal or co-investigator in 17 funded research studies, including support from the Research to Prevent Blindness, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the National Institute of Health.
