  Anthony J. Russo

  Founding Partner

  Nationally Recognized Trial Lawyer, Anthony J. Russo, Jr. is the founding partner of The Russo Firm with its corporate office in Delray Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida. As a consumer justice attorney, Anthony focuses his practice on catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and defective pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices. For over two decades, Anthony J. Russo, Jr. has handled thousands of consumer justice and personal injury lawsuits and has successfully litigated and tried cases throughout Florida and the United States. Prior to starting The Russo Firm, Anthony was the managing partner of the Weston, Florida Law Firm of Freedland Russo, P.L. (WestonLawyers.com) and founding partner of the Law Firm of Russo & Mitchell. Anthony J. Russo Jr. attended Fordham University and received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from SUNY at Albany. He received his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University in Broward County, Florida. Anthony has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1995 and is also admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia. Anthony is an active member of the Florida Justice Association, Broward County Justice Association, National Trial Lawyers Association, the Florida Bar Association, and the Florida Lawyers Action Group. Anthony also devotes his personal time to a variety of social and charitable causes. He serves as the Legal pro bono supervisor for MADD’s Court Monitoring Program. Anthony sits on the Board of Directors of Counselors Advocating Resources for Everyone in Florida (CARE FLA) and the Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention (F.I.S.P.). He served as the 2007-2008 President of the Rotary Club of Weston and is a former Board Director of the Sheinberg Family YMCA of Broward County. Anthony is the founder of Stealth Baseball Team, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit Youth Travel Baseball Organization. Stealth Baseball is the largest youth Travel Baseball program in Palm Beach County, Florida. Having assisted over 350 High School players in their placement in college, Stealth remains committed to its mission of providing every Stealth youth the ability to play the highest level of competitive baseball at the most affordable cost.

  Suzanne Friedman

  Partner

  Fort Lauderdale, Florida Attorney, Suzanne Friedman focuses her practice on medical malpractice, personal injury and business litigation. She also maintains a general business practice representing a vast array of national and international clients on corporate and business matters. Suzanne is a former oncology nurse and cancer research associate for the University of Miami, School of Medicine. She is also a Court Appointed Guardian Ad Litem for Broward County, Florida. Prior to joining The Russo Firm, Suzanne Friedman started her career practicing in the area of medical malpractice defense litigation, representing insurance companies and hospitals in large medical malpractice claims. For the past 20 years, Suzanne has worked in private practice and has served as house counsel for various national and international companies on corporate legal matters. Suzanne has also represented several Major League Baseball players in their contract negotiations. Suzanne received her B.S. in Nursing and Psychology from the University of Bridgeport, in Connecticut, and her Juris Doctor degree in 1985 from the Nova Southeastern University in Broward County. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association since 1988. Suzanne Friedman has served as past President of the Coco Plum Homeowners Association and is very active in the non-profit arena as a volunteer for several civic and charitable causes. Suzanne is a Certified Yoga Teacher; owns yoga studios, a yoga clothing company, and a high-end women’s accessories company. She is a frequent lecturer for the Business of Yoga seminars.

  Jonathan V. Pierre

  Litigation Attorney

  A Nationally Recognized Trial Lawyer, Jonathan V. Pierre is a Florida-based attorney who focuses his practice on personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, and civil rights. Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law with a concentration in Health Law. During law school, he was an editor of the Nova Law Review, a member of the NSU Trial Team, and Vice President of the Health Law Society. Prior to attending law school, Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Quantitative Analysis from Florida A&M University. Following his passion for helping others, Jonathan began his legal career as a Civil Rights Attorney and joined a legal practice that focuses on representing children who have been abused, neglected, catastrophically injured, and sexually victimized while in the foster care system. Motivated to understand how insurance companies work, Jonathan joined a prominent civil defense firm with a focus on healthcare and personal injury litigation.   Marcus J. Susen

  Marcus focuses his practice primarily on defective medical devices and drugs, along with sexual abuse cases and catastrophic injury accidents. He has tried a substantial number of cases to verdict as lead counsel which has allowed him to receive his Board Certification in Civil Trial from the Florida Bar- a privilege awarded to less than 2% of Florida attorneys. Prior to the age of 37, Marcus was appointed Lead Counsel of a consolidated litigation in PA Federal Court involving thousands of injured women by the birth control device known as Essure. This national litigation subsequently settled for approximately $1.6 Billion dollars. Marcus has also tried a substantial number of cases involving individually injured parties. For example, prior to the age of 30, Marcus tried an auto accident case in federal court resulting in a $2.45 Million-dollar jury verdict. Whether you have been injured in an accident or you are one of many injured by a defective device or drug, Marcus has the experience to take on any defendant and the results to back it up.   Brett Turnbull

  Brett Turnbull believes in putting clients first, an approach that has distinguished him as a leading trial lawyer. He obtained top-dollar jury verdicts and settlements for accident victims killed or injured by the negligent actions of others. Brett has more than a decade of courtroom experience in complex litigation, including serious car accidents, truck accident cases, product liability, pediatric injuries, brain injuries, and nursing home malpractice.   James C. Kelly

  Attorney - Of Counsel

  James C. Kelly concentrates his practice on class action lawsuits and mass torts. He has been litigating class action cases in Courts throughout the United States for over 18 years. Mr. Kelly has extensive experience litigating class actions. He has fought against some of the biggest companies and in some of the biggest cases in the United States. He helped litigate claims against Google, Inc. on behalf of Google’s customers (advertisers) for allegedly overcharging. After extensive motion practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, a settlement was reached in the amount of $20 million. My. Kelly has also recovered over $1 million in losses for purchasers of alleged improper tax shelters from a major banking institution, and successfully litigated product mislabeling claims in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, against Campbell Soup Company. In this case, Mr. Kelly obtained over $1 million for members of the class action lawsuit. In another case, he successfully convinced the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Delaware, to set aside proceeds from an insurance policy owned by Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc., to be applied toward the defendants’ losses. He also litigated a case in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on behalf of American International Group Inc. (AIG) investors that suffered losses to their employee 401(k) plans as a result of alleged breaches of duties by multiple companies involved, including AIG’s CEO. After successfully defeating the defendants’ motions to dismiss the consolidated complaint, on October 7, 2008, AIG settled the litigation for $24.2 million in favor of Mr. Kelly. In another example, he recovered damages for investors who purchased Tag-It Pacific, Inc. stock and suffered losses as a result of alleged fraudulent lies made by the company. The Tag-It Pacific case was a hard-fought lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, where the parties went all the way through the summary judgment stage and prepared for trial. Although the plaintiffs initially lost in the district court, plaintiffs appealed the district court’s decision to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and obtained a complete reversal of the district court’s opinion. Shortly thereafter, the parties settled the lawsuit for $5.75 million, nearly 100% of the damages claimed by the defendants.

  Bradley Egenberg

  Nationally Recognized New Orleans, Louisiana Trial Lawyer, Bradley Egenberg focuses his practice on personal injury litigation and trial work. Brad started his law career as a real estate developer, learning about tax, construction, business, banking, and insurance from having been there on the ground himself, not by just sitting behind a desk and billing a corporate client This experience has made all the difference in Brad’s perspective as a lawyer now representing his clients. He has also practiced extensively in the area of criminal law having successfully tried over 50 criminal cases and has successfully argued in from of the Louisiana Supreme Court. Bradley Egenberg received his B.A. in English from Tulane University. After military service, Brad returned to Tulane to study law, earning his Juris Doctor in 2004, and became a member of the Louisiana Bar in 2005, when Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans. Brad served in the army (tank corps) and is an avid CrossFit gym member. He enjoys the personal aspect and the strategic thinking that the practice of law demands and enjoys counseling his clients. Brad plays chess daily and keeps a board in his office ready for a match anytime. Brad is married and the father of a one-year-old boy.
